Marco is a hardened journalist who is married to a famous, female bullfighter who is mauled by a bull. She ends up in the same clinic as Alicia, where Marco visits her on a regular basis. Through his visits, Marco and Benigno strike up an unlikely friendship. At the heart of the story are two men in love with two women who no longer have a choice in whether they can love these men back until a shocking act by Benigno brings Alicia out of her coma to the surprise of her life.
