Known to many as 'The Birth of Football', Shrovetide is an event like no other that has taken place for hundreds of years. The passion that the locals have for the game is truly remarkable; to many 'scoring a Shrovetide ball changes their life'. This documentary tells the story of a town consumed by the game and in particular the exceptional events of 2019, where the ball was stolen away in the darkness by a Geography teacher and his brother.
