Perceval le Gallois

This 1970s French film was directed by Éric Rohmer and based upon the Arthurian legend of Sir Perceval and the Holy Grail, the legendary artifact sought by the Knights of the Round Table. The film borrows heavily from the original tale crafted by French author, Chrétien de Troyes.

The story begins with Perceval as a young child living with his mother in a small cottage in the woods of Wales. During a chance encounter with a noble Knight the boy quickly decides it is his destiny to become one as well. From their the film follows Perceval as he matures and is eventually inducted into King Arthur's inner circle of brave and powerful knights.
