Twelve-year old Seth, a city boy, is sent to live with his grandparents after the death of his mother. His grandfather has ostracized his daughter because she married an American Indian who was later killed in the Vietnam war. With her death, there is no place for Seth to go but to his grandparents' farm. His grandmother loves him dearly but he has to win over his grandfather.
