Half a Hero

Half a Hero is a 1953 American comedy film that stars Red Skelton, Jean Hagen, and Charles Dingle. Directed by Don Weis and produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the movie centers around Ben Dobson (Red Skelton), a small-town hardware store owner who is mistaken for a legendary World War II hero.
