Dorasaani

Dorasaani is an Indian Telugu language film released in 2019, under the direction of KVR Mahendra. Set in the 1980s, in the rural backdrop of Telangana, India, the film stars Anand Deverakonda, Shivathmika Rajashekar, and Vinay Varma in pivotal roles. While Anand Deverakonda marks his acting debut, it is equally as special for Shivathmika Rajashekar, as it's her first step into the world of Telugu cinema. Dorasaani is a romantic drama that lays down the socio-economic and cultural disparities, caste system issues and power dynamics that still persist in parts of rural India.

Anand Deverakonda, the real-life brother of well-known Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda, plays the character of Raju, a simple and innocent youth from the lower caste Yugandhar community. On the other hand, Shivathmika Rajashekar, who is the daughter of famous Telugu actors Dr. Rajashekar and Jeevitha, plays the character of Dorasaani (Lady of the Manor), also known as Devaki, the only child of a land-owning feudal lord from the upper caste Dorasani community who leads a sheltered and privileged life.
