Demons 2

In 1986, Italian horror maestro Lamberto Bava unleashed his second installment in the Demons series; Demons 2. The film stars David Edwin Knight, Nancy Brilli, and Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni in lead roles. Demons 2 is a supernatural horror movie that takes place in an apartment building in Berlin.

The movie begins with a TV show that broadcasts from a mysterious high-rise building. As the night progresses and the party-goers are attacked and turned into demons themselves, George and Cheryl fight for survival along with some other residents of the building, including a little boy and his mother. George battles the demons with an axe while Cheryl makes her way up to her friend Hannah's apartment to get help.

As more and more people turn into demons, the survivors realize that they need to escape as soon as possible. They try to leave the building, but the entrance has been sealed shut, and the exits are guarded by demons. The survivors must find a way out and fight their way through the demonic hordes to safety.

The movie is a frenzied, non-stop horror thriller with an abundance of gore and gruesome special effects. Lamberto Bava's direction is excellent, and he manages to create a creepy, claustrophobic atmosphere in the apartment building that makes the audience feel trapped and helpless. The depiction of the demons is also impressive, and the makeup and special effects are top-notch for the time.

The cast is solid, with David Edwin Knight doing a great job as the heroic George, and Nancy Brilli showing her strength as Hannah. Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni shines as the survivor from the first film, and she delivers a compelling performance.

Demons 2 does not rely solely on jump scares and cheap thrills. The movie has a strong narrative structure that makes sense and keeps the audience engaged throughout. The demon mythology is also further explored, making this movie an excellent continuation of the first.

The soundtrack, composed by Claudio Simonetti, is a perfect match for the movie's mood and tone. It's eerie, haunting, and adds to the suspenseful moments beautifully.
