This is a documentary about the Amazon River Basin.  It is an exploration of the plant life that grows there.  Little is known about the plants that grow in the basin.  A local medicine man and a botanist are featured.  They are seeking new specimens and species.  

The largest river in the world begins in the mountains, travels through vast jungle lands.  It empties into the Atlantic Ocean.  There are a wide variety of resources along its shores.  The focus is on the search for new cures.
