All Hat

All Hat is a 2007 western comedy film directed by Leonard Farlinger and stars Luke Kirby, Keith Carradine, and Noam Jenkins.

The film starts with Ray Dokes (Luke Kirby), a young man who just got released from prison after serving time for a crime he didn't commit. He returns to his hometown of Needles, which is run by Sonny Stanton (Keith Carradine), a notorious horse breeder and ranch owner. Ray's main objective is to get revenge on Sonny for framing him.

As Ray settles back into town, he runs into his old friend Pete Culpepper (Noam Jenkins). Pete is now a successful business owner who runs a bar and grill with his wife, Etta (Lisa Ray). Ray tries to stay under the radar, but Sonny's son, Mickey (David Alpay), catches wind of Ray's return and starts to taunt him.

One day, while drinking at Pete's bar, Ray meets Chrissie Nugent (Rachel Leigh Cook), a beautiful and feisty girl who has a reputation for being trouble. The two hit it off, and Ray becomes smitten with her. However, Chrissie just happens to be Sonny's girlfriend, making their attraction forbidden.

Meanwhile, Sonny is in the process of breeding a prize-winning horse, which is set to race at the county fair. However, his rival, Red (Ernie Hudson), has a history of sabotaging Sonny's horses and is looking to do the same with this one. Ray sees an opportunity to get his revenge on Sonny while also helping out Pete, who is struggling to keep his business afloat.

As tensions rise between the characters, including a subplot involving a love triangle between Mickey, Chrissie, and Ray, the film builds up to a thrilling showdown at the county fair, where all the characters' motives are revealed.

All Hat offers a fresh take on the classic western genre, infusing it with a lighthearted and comedic tone. The film's strength lies in its strong ensemble cast, with each actor delivering powerful performances that make the characters feel authentic and three-dimensional.
