Lillian Walker, a strategist at Waterhouse, a New York City venture capital firm, has long wanted a promotion to senior strategist. Although Mr. Waterhouse always seems to skirt the issue of a promotion whenever Lillian has been close to asking, he has noticed her and infers that he will consider a promotion based on the first company she takes from recommendation for evaluation to that evaluation report. The company she chooses is Love Subscription, a personalized subscription gift service for the person who doesn't know what to give as gifts for their loved ones.
