Second Sight

Second Sight is the 1993 award winning compilation of seven short films by various directors ,animators, and experimental filmmakers from different countries, and is available on Netflix. It is released by acclaimed film festival group Cinequest as part of their favorites collection. There are 4 volumes all together - the last of which was released in 2006. The first opens with David Munro's eerie half german film "Bullethead", in which a man's skull is altered to be more aerodynamic in order for him to be a better sledder. Next, "How High are the Castle Walls" illustrates a Scottish man's experience with cancer. Canada's "When Ponds Freeze Over" offers a partially animated surreal portrayal of traveling through memory as life flashing through ones eyes while drowning."Hero" tells the story of a young brave soldier, hungry to fight for his country, and his return from war a changed man. "Correct" uses color bars and computerized narration of Stanley Milgram's famous obedience experiments teamed with an uncomfortable frequency to demonstrate the depravity of human actions while under the excuse of authority. Jeff Farnsworth portrays a recent college grad who insessantly tries to to become a nightclub bouncer despite his complete lack of qualifications. "Friends on Crack" is an animated comedy of errors short series of ancient caveman wall etchings. MORE
