Jonathan Bird's Blue World

Jonathan Bird's Blue World is an educational family oriented show focused on underwater adventures and researched. It is co-produced by Jonathan Bird productions and the Oceanic Research Group. Jonathan Bird, a world renowned naturalist and underwater photographer hosts the show. The show is done in a magazine style comprised of short segments around seven to ten minutes long. Each segment is a different adventure and educational story. The stories involve marine research, researchers, animals, new discoveries and underwater explorations. On television these segments are seen within thirty minute long episodes. On the internet each segment is available as single videos. Each story features brilliant underwater photography and should appeal to younger audiences. The show has won an Emmey Award, as well as honors from the CINE Golden Eagle, the National Educational Association, and the National Science Teachers Association. It also receieved other accolades such as honorable mention for cinematography at the International Wildlife Film Festival and the Blue Ocean Film Festival. It was included by PCmag.com in their list of 'top 10 web shows to watch during the writer's strike' in 2009. MORE
