After Logan chases the thugs through alleys and side streets, one of the suspects Pepe, is mysteriously shot and killed, with the bag of cash falling to the ground beside him. Shortly after, Officer Higgs and Captain Gunther arrive and question Duffy about what has taken place. Duffy responds that he did not witness Pepe's murder and confesses that he stayed behind because he was too out of breath to keep up with his partner. Captain Gunther is clearly suspicious about the turn of events, knowing that Logan has a history of excessive force complaints against him.[EDIT]
