Stick

Stick is a 1985 crime film based on a book by Elmore Leornard. The film tells the story Ernest (Stick) Stickley (Burt Reynolds), a former car thief, who returns home from prison only to get caught up in a drug deal gone bad. Stick's friend, Rainy (Jose Perez) is killed in the Everglades and Stick is the only witness. Trouble follows him as he tries to lead a normal life and reconnect with his teenage daughter Katie (Tricia Leigh Fisher.) While working as a driver for Barry (George Segal), a wealthy eccentric, drug dealer Chucky (Charles Durning) tracks him down and demands money owed to him by his dead friend, Rainy. To further complicate matters, Stick falls in love with Kyle (Candice Bergen) who works for Barry as a financial advisor. Stick's happiness is short lived, however, when Chucky and Chucky's voodoo obsessed boss, Nestor (Castulo Guera), sends albino hitman Mokey (Dar Robinson) to kidnap his daughter and kill him.
