Smokey and the Bandit

Smokey and the Bandit is a 1977 comedy starring Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jackie Gleason, and Jerry Reed in a classic story about a legendary truck driver who takes a job smuggling Coors beer from Texas to Georgia, a dangerous mission that requires the help of some colorful allies and a few clever tricks to evade the police. Back in those days, highway patrolman'colloquially known as Smokeys'were devoted to preventing the illegal sale and distribution of certain alcoholic beverages across state lines. A couple of rich Texans are willing to pay big money for the pleasure of enjoying a cold Coors in Georgia, so they find the bravest rebel trucker they can'Bo "Bandit" Darville (Burt Reynolds). With the help of his partner Snowman, a gorgeous professional dancer named Frog (Field), and a Pontiac Trans Am, Smokey intends to evade the efforts of the local Smokey (Gleason) and deliver the beer in return for a brand new truck.
