Andy has low self-esteem and is accustomed to playing it safe. He is the 'wing-man' to lifelong friend Brad who seems to get, or at least go after, all the girls. Even the ones Andy is interested in. When Andy meets Faith at a classic American Movie Theater the two seem to have a magical sort of a connection. An opportunity that might just be a turning point for Andy. Unfortunately, Andy's life long friend Brad shows up and attempts to win Faith away from Andy. The sleazy approach from Brad sends Faith running but in her haste she leaves a clue that makes it easy for Brad to find her. The competition between Andy and Brad begins. Andy consults with his wise Russian Uncle Oleg for advice and as a result begins a journey of self-discovery and poetic transformation. Andy's transformation is as elusive as it is simple, he has to learn how to stand up straight, how to look and act like a man.
