Police Captian, Nino Manfredi, gives his viewpoints of the decadent society of individuals who surround him. He is called to deal with a situation with a down and out local baron. While the baron is at a glamorous party, he dances with the beautiful hostess named Virna Lisi. It is the baron's main goal to steal her very valuable earrings. When Virna Lisi realizes that her valuable earrings are missing, she decides to call in the police captain, Nino Manfredi, to get help. She wants the baron to pay for his actions and orders that he be taken away immediately.
