In "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich," the film adaptation of Nobel laureate Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's book, political prisoner Ivan and his fellow inmates are awakened before dawn somewhere in Siberia to confront subzero weather and hard labor once again.
