Hofesh Shechter is a choreographer known for his contemporary dance pieces.Clowns is only 30 minutes along. It contains hypnotic music and terrific dancing more eastern European in its origins.Even the story of clowns entertaining and killing is darkly comic.I thought it was no mean feat for the dancers to keep the tempo up for so long.The dancing is literally punctured with stabbings and shootings. Maybe it is a metaphor of how far people would go in the name of entertainment.
