DisOrientation is a wacky, uproarious and wildly imaginative 2012 comedy film that unravels the quintessential college experience in a completely original and hilariously convoluted way. The movie opens with Eric Toms playing the protagonist –Patrick Foster, a somewhat spoilt and naive young man who, after a series of trepidations, reluctantly becomes the first in his blue-blooded family to go to a public university. This transition marks the beginning of a juvenile odyssey, filled with fraternity parties, raging alcoholism, and uninhibited madness, all woven intricately into a tale of self-realization and maturity.

Todd Gaebe shines in his role as Justin, the audacious and unapologetically nonchalant roommate of Patrick, who introduces him to the raw, unfiltered college life. Justin is the yang to Patrick's yin. Together, they embark on several misadventures, which shape the viewer’s experience of the story. His audacious acts of defiance and carefree spirit present the viewer with a stark contrast to Patrick's morally-conscious character.

Then there’s Richard Moll—known for his roles in fantasy and horror—who delivers an outstanding performance as the campus security guard, Oswald, who goes by the nickname 'Bearcat'. Bearcat has seen it all—four years of student shenanigans, unrest, and remarkable stupidity—that solidify his role as the comic relief throughout the movie. The viewers will likely find themselves chuckling at his offbeat humor and warm-hearted character.

DisOrientation exploits the backdrop of college life very meticulously. It does not paint a rosy picture, but instead lays bare the underbelly of the so-called 'best years of your life'. While this is a low-budget film, it doesn’t skimp on creativity and originality, which makes it a worthwhile watch.
