American Me

The basic idea of the movie, American Me, is it shows thirty year of gang life in the city of Los Angeles. The main characters of the film are Chicano, and they are: Montoya, Santana, the teen who and his friends, J.D., and Mundo. They are all members of the same gang. The gang remembers finds that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they are arrested. While Santana is in juvenile hall, he ends up killing his inmate because his inmate raped him. Due to the murder, he will be entering Folsom prison when he becomes eighteen years-old. When he goes into the prison, he is the leader of a gang named La Eme. When he leaves prison, he tries to relate to the community that changed his life. Many people have heard of his gang outside of the prison walls as they sell drugs to a lot of people and the gang likes to commit murder. Santana does not have a good reputation in the community; however, Santana wants to change his ways. Before he can change his ways he goes back to jail for being in possession of drugs. Santana lets the former lieutenant named J.D. know that he wants to change his ways, and he no longer wants to lead the gang. Santana had stated that if anyone tried to leave the gang, they would be murdered. The other members of the gang decide to kill him because of the precedent. Their goal is to prove they are still a strong gang despite having no leader. You will have to watch the film to see what happens next. One thing is for sure, it will have you cracking up from beginning to end as it's a funny movie.
