The Prestige is a 2006 drama about two rival magicians who compete against each other to create the most spectacular illusions in 19th century London. Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) and Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) once worked together as assistants to Milton the Magician (Ricky Jay) when they were young. During one trick, Alfred makes a mistake that leads to the death of Robert's wife, fueling a competition between the two magicians that begins to consume their lives. Things take a turn for the sinister, when Alfred performs a trick so spectacular that Robert is driven mad trying to figure out how he did it.
