Eddie Izzard: Circle is the 2002 concert film of the British comedian's performance at the Town Hall in New York City. In this routine, he lampoons the Christian religion from the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Dark Ages and up through John Paul II. Izzard has always enjoyed mocking the hypocrisy of religion and its seemingly strange practices associated with the world's major religions. His rapid delivery style and sharp intellect also takes on a wide range of topics from the World Series, the Mona Lisa and even mad cows. Izzard's love of movies comes through in his silly take on the "Star Wars" series, where he imagines Darth Vader at the cafeteria in the Death Star. He also portrays a monkey with a gun taking on NRA spokesman Charlton Heston from "Planet of the Apes." Izzard's dark and intelligent take on the world is always unique, but some topics and language in this film may be best suited for mature audiences.MORE[EDIT]
