Viral Video Film School IM dissects, analyzes and lampoons the best and worst viral videos on the internet. Hosted by Professor Brett Erlich, these three-minute lessons started out as part of Current TV's infoMania, a weekly half-hour satirical news series. However, when infoMania was cancelled in 2011, the popular Viral Video Film School found ground online as a bi-weekly production. In each segment, the comedic professor teaches by example, presenting would-be online filmmakers with several clips that demonstrate familiar video themes such as dorm room tours, freakish body tricks, bad parents, best tattoos, dancing pets, crazy neighbors or third party political candidates. Erlich points out the common mistakes and clich''s which make novice video makers look like fools. His witty coaching is aimed at increasing video hit counts while still entertaining the viewers who don't aspire to such online fame. Viral Video Film School won a People's Voice Webby Award in 2010.MORE
