CATMAN

CATMAN is an animated action web series developed by Aoike Ryosuke for Crunchyroll that centers on a chain-smoking lowlife of a gambler as that three-fingered dude, who is also a cat, jumps from bar to bar, fight to fight, in an aim to enjoy life to the fullest. A quirky punk-derived series, Catman was derived as a solution to the thick and confusing plot lines of other series with short episodes and little to no dialogue. While he is not much of anything, viewers get to see snippets of his days as the wannabe action hero practices kung fu on the sidewalks, takes his pet bird with him to the caf', and discovers that those movie-inspired villains just do not exist in real life. Cynical, inspired, and gritty, Catman is a unique series that shows not only the loneliness of normal life but also the dreams of some excitement. MORE
