Xavier: Renegade Angel is a computer animated TV series that ran on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming block for two seasons. The show follows the adventures of Xavier, an odd beast with a snake for a hand, a beak, faun-like legs, and six nipples, as he searches the globe for the secrets of his origin. Xavier’s actual purpose changes from episode to episode, but he seems to remain a sort of shaman or cleric, dispensing meaning less wisdom wherever he goes. The plot of the show is constantly changing, relying on non-linear storytelling and complete absurdity. PFFR, the production company behind Wonder Showzen and Adult Swim’s Delocated, produced the show with Vernon Chatman, Alyson Levy, John Lee, and Jim Tozzi acting as creators. The animation, which looks like the height of mid-90’s computer gaming technology, is by Cinematico. No official cancellation has been issued, but there hasn’t been a new episode since April, 2009.
