Wolverine and the X-Men

Wolverine and the X-Men is an animated TV series developed by Marvel Animation based on Marvel Comics' popular X-Men comic book series as it begins with an explosive attack on the Xavier mansion that covers the disappearance of Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey, the two most prominent and powerful telepaths in the world. The trauma of the attack by an unknown assailant pushes the X-Men to disband, ultimately retiring the world's mutant peacekeepers. Without a home or a greater purpose, each of the X-Men goes off on their own. Cyclops falls into a depression, Storm returns to Africa, Iceman moves back to the suburbs, and Wolverine wanders around in search of some clues to what took the Professor and Jean. Of course, things can never remain quiet forever as a government-supported organization called the Mutant Response Division (MRD) begins to capture and register mutants in a misguided effort to protect humanity. Wolverine, Beast, and Angel manage to gather most of their former team, including the likes of Shadowcat, Forge, Nightcrawler, Rogue, and Gambit, with the help of beautiful telepath Emma Frost. A few prominent fan favorites from the comics are showcased when the reformed team finds a comatose Charles on the shores of Genosha, cared for by his long-time friend and nemesis Magneto. Even unconscious and trapped in the Days of the Future Past timeline, Xavier urges Wolverine to lead the X-Men to save the world from the Sentinel Project and the destructive Brotherhood of Mutants while also stopping the ultimate destruction caused by the cosmic entity known as the Phoenix Force. Wolverine and the X-Men does not disappoint X-Men fans with the introductions of classic characters and teams throughout the series, from Mystique to the Hulk, the Acolytes to Weapon X, the Marauders to the Hellfire Club.
