Without a Trace

Without a Trace is the CBS police drama that follows the FBI missing persons unit, lead by Supervisory Special Agent John Michaell "Jack" Malone (Anthony LaPaglia), with the team including Assistant Supervisory Special Agent Vivian "Viv" Johnson and Special Agents Samantha "Sam" Spade (Poppy Montgomery), Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano), Martin Fitzgerald (Eric Close) and Elena Delgado (Roselyn Sanchez). The fictional team is based in New York City, and works full-time to find missing persons, applying psychological profiling techniques to try to trace their location. Their cases could be abductions, murders, suicides, or runaways, and they construct a "day of disappearance" timeline to use the information from the 24 hours before they went missing to try to draw clues. They operate by their rule of "learn who the victim is in order to learn where the victim is". Lead by the tough but compassionate seasoned agent Jack Malone, the squad includes the beautiful but tough blond Sam, the no-nonsense Viv, street-smart Danny, the driven Martin, and the new transfer from the Vice unit, Elena.
