Wiseguy is a compelling crime drama about an undercover FBI agent working deep within organized crime syndicates to bring them down. Vincent Terranova (Ken Wahl) is working in the Organized Crime Bureau, a fictional division of the FBI. Terranova, or Vinnie's job is to become a trusted member of various criminal groups, secretly gather evidence, and take them down. His superior officer, Frank McPike (Jonathan Banks) and other trusted contact person Daniel "Lifeguard" Burroughs (Jim Byrnes) communicate in various covert and secretive ways, in order to maintain his cover. The three prove to be a rather effective team at taking down these organizations, but the outcome is not always neat and tidy, for both the criminals and the agents themselves. Wiseguy, a now classic show, which ran from September 16, 1987 to December 8, 1990, was known for its use of arcs, or using a large number of episodes to tell the story, and for the portrayal of both good and bad outcomes in the cases. This type of storytelling has not only become typical for many modern shows, but showcased notable actors, like Kevin Spacey and Tim Curry, due to the repeated appearances. Quite ahead of its time, Wiseguy was a very popular show, and it's unique style paved the way for many modern programs.MORE
