Winter Sonata is the second Korean drama series in director Yoon Seok-Ho's Endless Love collection, starring Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo in a story about a troubled young man from a broken family whose life is erased by amnesia following a terrible accident, making his young love the only link to his true past. Joon-Sang is an exceptionally talented young musician who moves to rural South Korea to study. His father is dead and his mother has mistreated him, making Joon-Sang an introverted and private person. At school, he meets Yoo-Jin, a compassionate and open young women. The two students soon fall deeply in love. In a cruel twist of fate, a horrific car crash leaves Joon-Sang with amnesia. In an attempt to erase their past troubles, Joon-Sang's mother takes advantage of his amnesia, inventing a happier history between them and moving with her son to America to begin a new life.
