Wings is an NBC sitcom starring Timothy Daly, Steven Weber, and Crystal Bernard. Daly and Weber play Joe and Brian Hackett, two brothers who operate Sandpiper Air at Tom Nevers Field, a small airport in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Bernard plays the beautiful Helen Chapel, a lifelong friend of the Hackett brothers who works the lunch counter at the airport and dreams of playing cello in a symphony. The small airport is host to a wide range of charming comic characters. Tony Shalhoub plays Antonio V. Scarpacci, and Italian immigrant and hopeless romantic who drives a taxi to and from the airport. Academy Award nominee Thomas Haden Church plays Lowell Mather, the capable but eccentric handyman who takes care of all the repairs around the airport. Wings takes place in the same universe as other NBC comedy hits Cheers and Frasier. Throughout the series, several characters from those shows make guest appearances. Cliff Clavin and Norm Peterson, the lovable barflies from Cheers, stop by a few airport bars at Tom Nevers Field on their way to a fishing trip, and Frasier Crane runs into trouble on his way to give a motivational seminar.
