Welcome to The Captain

Welcome to the Captain is a comedic television series that aired on CBS in 2008 following a diverse group of interconnected neighbors living in a Hollywood apartment building they call “The Captain.” The main character is Josh (Fran Kranz), a young screenwriter whose once-promising career has stalled. Deflated, Josh considers giving up on Hollywood and moving back to New York, when his best friend Marty (Chris Klein) convinces him to move into his apartment building, the famous El Capitan. There the two meet an array of interesting tenants from different eras and many walks of life. There is the former femme fatale Charlene (Raquel Welch), the know-it-all former TV writer Uncle Saul (Jeffrey Tambor), the young actress Astrid (Valerie Azlynn) and the one that catches Josh’s eye, the down-to-earth novice acupuncturist Hope (Joanna Garcia). Doorman Jesus makes sure everyone is up to date on the happenings in everyone else’s lives. Only five episodes of the show were aired before it was cancelled. MORE
