Wagon Train is a classic American western series that ran from 1957 to 1965 on NBC and ABC, starring Ward Bond, John McIntire, Robert Horton, and Robert Fuller in a story set shortly after the end of the Civil War, when the American West was a dangerous and uncivilized frontier, free from the law and order of the Eastern States and offering limitless opportunity to anyone brave enough to venture into the unknown. The series follows a wagon train headed from Missouri to California, a famously dangerous trip. The wagon train is filled with adventurous people, hoping to find fortune and family like they've never seen before on the other side of the country. Along the way, the travelers encounter all manner of obstacles, ranging from issues with the lay of the land, bad weather and natural forces, and run-ins with mysterious strangers.
