Viewtiful Joe is a 2004 Japanese anime series based on the popular video game of the same name. In the United States it airs on the Kids' WB block of the CW network. Outside of the United States, it is broadcast on the Crunchyroll streaming video site. Viewtiful Joe is a normal guy who is obsessed with movies. Joe and his girlfriend Silvia are out on a date watching an action movie when the villain of the movie, Jadow, reaches out of the screen and captures Silvia. Joe is told to follow her by the hero of the film, Captain Blue. Captain Blue then gives Joe the power to become the hero known as Viewtiful Joe. Silvia also gains transformative power to become a hero in her own right named Go-Go Silvia. Viewtiful Joe must trek through all of the different sections of the Movieland he now inhabits.
