Vermilion Pleasure Night is a Japanese late-night variety and sketch comedy show. The show is a visual feast, a rainbow hued, mind trip and sonic assault, full of black humor and kitsch. The show features parodies, skits, and more, with mixed styles from animated to live-action segments. Some of the recurring skits have included The Fuccon Family, Cathy's House, Resident Starship, Midnight Cooking, One Point English Lesson and more. In the popular sketch The Fuccon Family, we join in with an American family, played by mannequins. Dad, Mom and their son Mikey fight, talk and laugh mindlessly, with grotesque smiling faces. Mikey gets kidnapped, has an exorcism and more, and the creepy sketch was the most popular, leading to a spin-off show, Oh! Mikey. The series began in July of 2000, and had a short run until December of 2000, with 25 episodes.
