U.S. Open

Every year, the United States Golf Association (USGA) organizes the U.S. Open, an annual golf tournament held in mid-June that is held in a similar esteem as the PGA Tour and European Tour. Without any weather interruptions, the event is scheduled so that the final day lands on the third Sunday of June, which is Father's Day in the United States. it is scheduled for a different Golf Course each year. The first Open was played on October 4, 1985 in Newport, Rhode Island. Famous winners include Walter Hagen, Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Ernie Els, Geoff Ogilvy, and Tiger Woods.
