Upstairs, Downstairs is the drama television series which shows the lives of downstairs servants and upstairs masters in a London townhouse. The series begins in 1903, during the reign of Edward VII. We join in the lives of the Bellamy family, a wealthy family who live in the fashionable Belgravia in London. We see the lives of Lady Marjorie Bellamy, the daughter of the Earl and Countess of Southwold, and her husband Richard Bellamy, a politician. They have two children, James in his early twenties and Elizabeth in her late teens. Also playing their parts in the story are the staff of the house, led by the authoritarian butler Mr. Angus Hudson, including the cook Mrs. Kate Bridges, the parlourmaids Rose and Sarah, kitchen maid Emily, footman Alfred, Coachman Pearce and others throughout the years. For nearly 30 years we follow along in the lives of the residents of 165 Eaton Place, as they take on social change, political upheaval and scandals, and even the First World War.MORE
