This Old House

This Old House is the PBS series about home renovation and remodeling, with hosts like the legendary Bob Vila, and help from contractors like Norm Abram and Tom Silva. The show takes on two renovation projects each season, working to restore and renovate older houses, with the homeowners working with the team to turn the old homesteads into the best house they can be. Using old world craftsmanship and modern technology, the show aims to teach about the home improvement process, highlighting American architectural styles and renovation issues. The crew takes the sometimes shabby old homes, and highlights the heritage of the original, rebuilding and remodeling while preserving the important details of the historical homes. The legendary show has been on since 1979, has won over a dozen Emmy awards, and has inspired spin-off series like Ask This Old House and Inside This Old House.
