There & Back: Ashley Parker Angel - After Show is the exclusive MTV after show that wraps up the events on their reality series which follows the life of former O-Town singer Ashley Parker Angel. Ashley grew up in California, and studied the piano at a very early age, and his mother was a talented piano teacher. In 2000, he tried out for the ABC series Making the Band, and was chosen from tens of thousands of hopefuls to enter the selection process. He fought through the eliminations and ended up as one of the final five, and the guys started the group O-Town. The show was the brainchild of Lou Pearlman, famous for forming groups like The Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync. The group had some big success fast, with record-setting singles and a multi-platinum album. When they were ready to drop their second album, the teen pop craze had fizzled out, and the group was dropped by their record label. In 2004 Ashley struck out on his own, letting the MTV cameras join him as he tried to make it as a solo artist. Ashley must work to get respect for his own music, while juggling his family life and pregnant fiance, and the later birth of his son Lyric.
