The Ultimate Fighter

The Ultimate Fighter, also known as TUF, is a mixed martial arts (MMA) reality show starring Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White on Spike TV Each season, the best up-and-coming MMA fighters from around the world are brought together to live in a house just outside Las Vegas, Nevada. The show follows the fighters as they train and prepare for the next fight. TUF is an elimination style show. The loser of each fight is removed from the competition, and each season culminates in a grand finale, with the remaining two fighters in each weight class facing off for a shot at a six-figure contract with the UFC. Each season also features team coaches, selected from the UFC's current belt contenders, and much of the show's drama stems from the competition between the two teams of fighters. The teams train separately, but they all go home to the same place. At the end of almost every season, the two coaches also fight in the finale. Past coaches have included UFC hall-of-famers Ken Shamrock, Randy Couture, and Chuck Liddell. Dana White has attributed the success of the Ultimate Fighting Championship to the popularity of The Ultimate Fighter, and many of the UFC's current stars got their start on this gripping reality series.
