The Thick of It is a BBC comedy series from creator Armando Ianucci and starring Peter Capaldi and Chris Langham in a part-scripted, part-improvised story about a group of government officials trapped in a hilarious web of bureaucracy. Langham plays Minister Hugh Abbot, the head of the Department of Social Affairs and Citizenship (DoSAC). Abbot works directly beneath the imposing Malcolm Tucker (Capaldi), a government enforcer who makes sure everything runs smoothly. Other regular characters on the show include other members of the government, their political opponents, and members of the media waiting for a chance to expose their antics. The show's co-stars include Rebecca Front, James Smith, and Chris Addison. The show is profane and crude, but presented in a documentary style that lends it an air of reality. The Thick of It is a fun political satire that has won numerous awards for its smart writing and excellent acting.MORE
