The Strip was a short lived Australian television crime drama that aired on the Nine Network from September 4th 2008 to December 4th 2008. It was set on Australia's Queensland Gold Coast (locally known as the strip, hence the series title) and followed the homicide investigations of a group of police men under the head detective Jack Cross (played by Aaron Jeffrey) and is partner Detective Frances 'Frankie' Tully (played by Vanessa Gray). They were joined by the plainclothes constables Jessica Mackay (played by Simone McAullay) and Tony Moretti (played by Bob Morley). The show received low, disappointing ratings so did not get a second season. It's first and only season lasted for thirteen episodes. The show was visually inspired by CSI: Miami and was full of shots of the Australian surf as well as aerial shots of buildings and beaches. The series was directed by Garth Maxwell, Ian Barry, Ken Cameron and Shawn Seet.MORE
