The Sing-Off is a reality singing competition from NBC hosted by Nick Lachey, former member of boy band 98 Degrees and presided over by judges Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman (of Boyz II Men fame), and Nicole Scherzinger (lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls). Unique to this singing competition is the group format, something that has never been done before in a network singing competition. The Sing-Off features a capella groups, from 4 to 12 people large, competing for an Epic Records/Sony Music recording. The first season of The Sing-Off was a four-part event with a mixture of music selections, including the groups' signature songs, more contemporary hits, "guilty pleasure" songs, songs from classic artists, and songs picked by the judges specifically for each group. The winners of each round were chosen by an audience vote. The Sing-Off premiered on NBC in December 2009 and has since been renewed for a second season.MORE
