The Second City: The First Family of Comedy is a television mini-series that offers viewers a unique look behind the scenes of one of Chicago's most popular stage groups, The Second City. Interviews with Second City members offer a rare and unadulterated view of the comedic genius that made The Second City so popular as a comedy club. The show is a series of three specials which chronicle the beginnings of The Second City in the fifties through SCTV and then goes on to where they progressed to in the nineties. Some actors worth mentioning include James and John Belushi, Andrea Martin, Tina Fey, John Candy and Dan Akroyd. The Second City: The First Family of Comedy is hosted by Scott Thompson, Dave Thomas, and Joe Flaherty. Sharon Bartlett directs the series.
