The Search for the Next Elvira

The Search for the Next Elvira' was reality contest series hosted by Cassandra Peterson (Elvira herself) and Eric Gardner. It was designed to find the next late night cult horror movie host, a la Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. The judges of the hopeful horror hosts included Cassandra as Elvira, Christian Greenia and Patterson Lundquist as cross dressing Manviras as well as Kan Hodder, the most famous Jason Voorhees actor from the Friday the 13th series and Rick Baker, the famous special effects make up artist and six time Oscar award winner. There were 13 contestants and hopeful winners (in keeping with the campy horror tone of it all). They were Ms. Monster, a horror hostess from San Francisco, Yvette Nii, a singer from Hawaii, Asia DeVinyl, A fetish and goth pin up model, Mina Rose, a Suicide Girl model, April Wahlin, an aspiring writer, Jenny Jensen, a marketing director, Erik-a, who was male, Shelly Martinez, a former ECW wrestler, Jilina Scott, an actress, Lady M, a sales specialist, Kitty Korvette, bassist from a goth country band, Bridget Marquardt, a Playboy Model, and Lola Davidson, an actress.
