The Scholar

The Scholar is a television series in which ten of America's best high school seniors compete for a chance to win a $240,000 scholarship donated by Eli Broad to any college they choose. However, not everyone can get this scholarship as they compete in front of judges of the scholarship committee including Simon Cowell from American Idol. The students come from very poor communities but are talented and the money would help them continue their education at basically any top college in the United States. The kids are put to the test as their book smarts and leadership capabilities come into play. At the end of each episode the students have to compete in sudden death oral exams in front of the scholarship committee and whoever loses gets put out of the competition. The real question is who will win this life changing scholarship and who will walk away with nothing? MORE
