The Redd Foxx Show

The Redd Foxx Show is a short-lived family sitcom that ran from January 1986 to April 1986 on ABC, for a total of 12 episodes. The show is about the life of Al Hughes (Redd Foxx), a newsstand owner who adopts a sassy, street-smart teenage girl, Toni (Pamela Segall). It is quite some work to juggle running one’s own business—even if it is just a newsstand—and raising a rebellious teenager. Well, despite the difficulties that managing child-raising—or rather, teen-taming—and work life bring about, Hughes is enjoying his life, is glad of his decisions, and all is going well. That is, all is going well until Toni disappears and his ex-wife, Felicia (Beverly Todd), and their son, Byron (Sinbad) show up. Hughes’ life is all shaken up and one can only wonder how he will deal with all the unexpected developments that have come his way.
