The PJs

The PJ's is a stop-motion animated sit-com that aired on Fox from 1998-1999 and on The WB from 2000-2001. Created by, and starring Eddie Murphy, the show featured the story of the Stubbs', a working class family living in the projects (The PJ's) of Detroit. Thurgood Stubbs is the building's superintendent. He's stubborn, impatient, and always saying the wrong thing. His wife, Muriel, always brings him back down to earth. The show also features a variety of other tenants that form a small community. There's Mrs. Avery, and old lady who fights with Thurgood when her apartment isn't fixed, Calvin and Juicy, two kids who love Thurgood like an uncle, and, of course, Smokey, the local crackhead. These characters, and many, many others offer support and opportunities for comedy. Produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment and animated by Will Vinton Studios, The PJ's was produced in a process called "Foamation." MORE
