The Paper

The Paper is a reality television show on MTV about the newspaper staff at Cypress Bay High School for their publication, The Circuit. The show follows the senior editors as they battle it out against close friends for the title of editor-in-chief- Amanda, Alex, Adam, and Giana. They all have their individual talents but only one has what it takes to be in charge. The position is even more desired as it will look great on a college application as an extracurricular. As seniors, the students want to enjoy their last year of high school, but once Amanda is named editor-in-chief it becomes clear that the newspaper will be strictly business. In addition to pursuing new relationships and moving forward with their plans for next year, friendships will be tested- particularly that of Amanda and Alex. Lots of students see Amanda’s rule as a power trip, and as her runner-up, Alex can’t help but feel slighted by his position at the paper. The seniors try to keep the peace and their social lives while also striving to write an interesting, award-winning newspaper. MORE
