The Next Food Network Star

The Next Food Network Star is a reality television series produced by and aired on the Food Network, in which the ultimate winner of each season is awarded his/her own cooking show on the Food Network. The first season, in 2005, secured such a large audience that the show has gone on to shoot five additional seasons. Marc Summers hosted the first two seasons, but the show has been without a host from the third season on. After all, with judges Bob Tuschman, Susie Fogelson, and Bobby Flay, as well as contestants with big personalities, no host is needed to make the show more interesting or encourage entertaining interactions. The contestants hail from all over the United States of America, make up a wide age range, and have all kinds of different occupations, from stand up comedian to sales manager. It is only to be expected that their personalities and culinary persuasions, from soul food to health food, are very diverse and make for some interesting contrasts. MORE
